Ukraine Children’s Christian Camps

For twenty nine years until the full scale invasion of Ukraine, we provided Christian holiday camps for disadvantaged children, including those from very poor backgrounds, children with disabilities and those affected by the Chernobyl disaster. These were held in various regions including Crimea, Odesa and Poltava. Through the holiday camps, thousands of children and young people gave their lives to Jesus and developed deep and lasting faith. Now young adults, who have become Christians at the camps, are involved in local churches in many and varied ministries, including raising their own children to know Christ’s love for them. Many churches have been planted through this blessed ministry.

Inevitably the holiday camp programme was disrupted by the war but in 2024 our teams in Ukraine put on a number of one day children’s camps in several areas of the country.  In 2025 we were very thankful to God to be able to expand this to three day long camps in several regions including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Fastiv and Poltava, reaching more than 2,100 children and teenagers. Our teams are looking forward to reaching even more young people this Summer!

At the holiday camps, children and teenagers enjoy lots of fun games, sports activities, art and crafts, music, drama, worship songs, gospel talks and time to engage with God’s word for themselves. They receive nutritious meals and the care of dedicated and enthusiastic Christian leaders.

The camps provide young people with a time of rest, refreshment and enjoyment, making good memories in this traumatic time for their country. They give children and teenagers a chance to explore faith for themselves and leaders reported large percentages of the children attending making a commitment to Jesus.

Our Ukraine Director Pastor Pasha speaking from one of the camps in the Kyiv region (pictured above) said, “The children are very happy to be at the camp, they enjoyed playing different games and having Bible lessons. Their parents are very happy also. There are lots of refugee children here who have lost everything, they came here and had good food, good time and good relationships with others. Big thanks for your support, may God bless you.”

We praise God for all the fruit born from the children’s camps over many years. We give thanks for all the dedicated leaders who provide so much joy, as they have fun with the children and share Christ’ love with them. We pray for all the children who attend the camps to keep hold of all they have learned and to know they can put their trust in God throughout the year.
