Why should you leave a gift in your will?

When you leave a gift in your will, no matter what size, it will ensure we can continue showing Christian love in action. More than 3 billion people have not heard about Christ’s love, and a staggering 719 million people live in poverty worldwide. By leaving a lasting gift with us, we can continue reaching those who haven’t heard the gospel, sending aid overseas and helping lift people out of poverty for many more years.

If you leave a gift to International Aid Trust, you can trust that we will use your money with care and that every penny be used to improve lives of those in need. We won’t take out any administration costs as these are covered by our charity shops.

How do you leave a gift in your will?

If you would like to leave a gift in your will so we can continue sharing Christ’s love through providing practical aid, we recommend that you speak to a solicitor to ensure your wishes will be carried out as you intend.

When speaking with a solicitor, take this information with you:

International Aid Trust
Registered address: Croft Mill, 43 Pall Mall, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 3LT
Registered charity number: 1086597

What kind of gift can I leave?

There are three main types of gifts you can leave:

  • A residuary gift – a share or percentage of your estate after other specific gifts have been made to friends and family.
  • A pecuniary gift – is a specific amount of money, however, it is worth bearing in mind the effects of inflation could mean that your gift could lose value over time and be less than you intended. You can ask your solicitor to index-link to safeguard its value.
  • A specific gift – which could be a particular item such as a personal possession, property or shares.

We’d love to say ‘thank you’
