Emmanuel House Children’s Home was built following the Ebola crisis, which left a lot of children in the Lungi area orphaned. It is home to 26 children, who have all lived through tragic situations of bereavement or abandonment.

The children at Emmanuel house are now happy and lively. They live in a comfortable home and eat three nutritious meals a day. The children have security in knowing they are loved and cared for, and are learning what it means to be part of a Christian family, from the caring staff led by House Mother Catherine, pictured above left during an outing to Lungi beach. Counselling is provided as needed. Every morning is started with Bible reading and praying together.

The children are very thankful for regular meals, they are used to sharing and helping with tidying up etc. Time is set aside every evening for the children to study and complete their homework. This has been greatly enhanced by the solar panels that were kindly donated and are now on the roof of Emmanuel House providing electricity, the photo below left shows lights working in the main room of home.

The children attend our New Hope schools and Sunday School at New Hope Church. They enjoy drawing (above right), crafts and games at home, and football and other team games in the grounds.

Josephine (aged 10) says, “I thank Jesus for loving me and giving me a new home and family at Emmanuel Home”.

We thank God that the children at Emmanuel House are now loved, secure and part of a big happy family, centred around Jesus.  Please pray for Catherine and the team to know God’s help and guidance as they care for the children, and for all the children to grow up trusting in Jesus.
