You are warmly invited to our 35th Anniversary Celebration, on Saturday 17th October at St George’s Church, Chorley, PR7 2AA. Please arrive 6.30pm for 7.00pm start.
We are deeply grateful to the Churchwardens and all at St George’s Church for their kindness in providing this beautiful venue for our special service of thanksgiving, music, inspiring reports from our international leaders and prayers for the future.
St George’s is one of Lancashire’s most magnificent and historic churches. Built between 1822 and 1825, to serve the rapidly growing town of Chorley during the Industrial Revolution. Designed by the celebrated architect Thomas Rickman, it is regarded as one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the county. For more than two centuries, this remarkable church has stood as a place of Christian worship, prayer, hope and service to the local community.
As International Aid Trust celebrates 35 years of humanitarian and Christian ministry, it is especially fitting that we gather in a place where generations of Christians have worshipped, prayed and served God before us. We come with grateful hearts to give thanks for His faithfulness throughout these years, to remember all that He has done, and to dedicate ourselves afresh to serving God through serving those in need both at home and around the world.
For me the occasion also carries a special personal significance, as my late brother, Louis Cocker, faithfully served St George’s Church as Churchwarden for many years. It is therefore a privilege to return to this much-loved church to celebrate God’s faithfulness together.
We are also grateful to have among our faithful supporters and volunteers those who worship at St George’s Church, including Elizabeth and Peter, whose ongoing encouragement and service have been a blessing to the work of International Aid Trust.
