Belarus

International Aid Trust has worked in Belarus for some 19 years supporting churches, orphanages and very poor families.

Although Belarus is sometimes more difficult to work with than other countries we have successfully helped many groups and individuals throughout this time. Much of this work has previously been coordinated from the UK by Derrick Leach but this responsibility has now passed to Steve Field.

Our contacts in Belarus are Pastor Leonid Biruk in the Minsk area and Albina Nikitov in the Vitebsk area.

Many individual families are supported by UK families in our family sponsorship scheme; this is the lifeblood for many of these families.

Childrens holidays are sponsored both within Belarus and also in the Ukraine and many of the orphaned and poor children benefit greatly from these breaks.

We also support a Messianic congregation in Minsk, which with the support of Chantel Winograd provide much needed help to the community. One of these helpers is shown with the knitting machine above.
